Siblings series I II Ⅲ.
This series reflects childhood memories with my older brother and younger sister.
This series brings childhood memories to life, capturing moments with my older brother and younger sibling.
Series I—an oil painting on canvas—portrays a birthday table scene in a flash of color and spontaneity, painted without a sketch. As I grew older, I became more aware of my brother’s disability, deepening my love and care for him—emotions I aimed to preserve in this piece.
Series II- My brother’s clothing appears wavy and undefined, symbolizing his disability and how I perceived him growing up. My slight embrace expresses both quiet sadness and deep love—an attempt to hold onto the moment and the bond we share.
Series Ⅲ-created during COVID—reflects the deep longing I felt for my family and cousins. We once gathered weekly, but after moving to Seoul, those moments became rare. This piece captures a cherished childhood memory from a family trip to Daegu when I was about six years old—a time when we were all together, unaware of how fleeting those gatherings would become.
Here is some inspiration picture to bring up old memories, reference for this siblings series.
